Judy Irene Thompson -- Utica

UTICA -- The funeral for Judy Irene Thompson will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church in Utica, with the Rev. Tim Gerarden officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Utica.

Mrs. Thompson, 80, of Utica, a retired cook, died Sunday evening (June 9, 2002) at Lewiston Villa in Lewiston.

Judy Irene Waadevig was born July 1, 1921, in Arendahl Township, Fillmore County. She married Henry Thompson and they lived in Rushford before moving to Utica, where they made their home for many years. She cooked at the Little Acorn Restaurant in Utica and at Whitewater Healthcare Center of St. Charles for 23 years. A member of First Presbyterian Church in Utica, she had served as an elder, deacon and Sunday school teacher. She was recognized as an outstanding Presbyterian senior in 1994 and as an outstanding senior citizen at the Winona County Fair. She enjoyed playing cards and cooking.

Survivors include two sisters, Selma Turner of Elba and Bernice Watson of St. Paul; and a brother, Clifford (Phyllis) Waadevig of Chatfield. She was preceded in death by her husband and three brothers.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Hoff Funeral Home-St. Charles Chapel and an hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
