U.S. Open going prime-time
CHICAGO — Crunch time is going to be on prime time for the U.S. Open.
In a shrewd move, NBC is taking advantage of the West Coast time difference for the Open at Torrey Pines in San Diego. The third round on June 14 is scheduled to conclude at 9 p.m. CDT, and the fourth supposedly will finish at 8 p.m.
With three of the next five Opens on the West Coast, prime-time Open golf may be a semi-regular tradition.
