Keith Charles Lichty -- Rochester

ROCHESTER -- The funeral for Keith Charles Lichty will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home in Waterloo, Iowa. Burial will be in Orange Township Cemetery in Waterloo.

Mr. Lichty, 85, of Newman, Ga., a former Rochester and Fillmore County farmer, died Friday night (July 11, 2003).

He was born Dec. 12, 1917, in Fillmore County. On Dec. 26, 1940, he married Mildred M. Segebarth in Waterloo. They farmed in the Waterloo area and later operated a dairy farm in Fillmore County and then in the Rochester area. In 1978, he retired from farming and moved to Cedarville, Ohio, to help his son in construction. In 1992, he moved to Newman and continued to help his sons in construction until becoming ill. He was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Deanna (Tom) Nash of Newman; two sons, Galen and Dan (Donna), both of Newman; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ardis Grady of Waterloo; and a brother, Robert (Gina) of Mountain Home, Ark. Two brothers and a great-granddaughter preceded him in death.

Friends may call an hour before the service Friday at the funeral home.
