Kidnapping still under investigation

The Olmsted County Sheriff's Department continues to investigate what it describes as a kidnapping that took place late Thursday evening.

Officials did not name any of the suspects or the victim. They say that around 11 p.m. Thursday, two Rochester men drove to a rural Rochester Township home and contacted another man. The three reportedly know each other.

At some point in the conversation between the suspects and victim, one of the suspects grabbed the victim and forced him into their vehicle. The victim was reportedly threatened with a knife, assaulted and robbed. At about 12:30 a.m., the suspects drove to a cornfield in Farmington Township, made the victim get out of the vehicle and take off all his clothes. The suspects then drove away.

The victim then walked to a nearby residence, and authorities were called. Officials say the victim suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. He was not hospitalized.

Authorities say they are looking at charges including kidnapping, assault and robbery.
