A man wielding a knife stole $300 Sunday morning from a Kwik Trip in northeast Rochester.
Police say a male wearing a hood held tightly around his head entered the store at 3111 Wellner Drive N.E. about 4:30 a.m. The clerk came out of a back room and saw the man around the cash register. The suspect then pulled out a black-handled hunting knife with a 6-inch blade, demanding the money in the cash register. The clerk gave him money.
Police say the man fled on foot, going to the east of the convenience store. A search of the surrounding area by police and a police dog was unsuccessful.
Police describe the robber as a black male, 6-feet tall, thin, around 140 pounds, with short hair. The man was wearing faded black or blue denim jeans and a blue hooded sweatshirt.
