L-A puts clamps on Chatfield

Lewiston-Altura held Chatfield to six points in the fourth quarter and pulled away to a 45-38 win over Chatfield in a Three Rivers Conference girls basketball game Thursday night at Chatfield.

L-A erased a four-point deficit at halftime, and the game was tied at 32-32 after three quarters.

The Cardinals' full-court pressure in the fourth quarter caused Chatfield turnovers which allowed L-A to secure the win. Free throws were also key, as L-A had a 9-1 scoring edge at the line.

L-A improved to 8-5 overall and 5-3 in the TRC North Division; Chatfield is 5-6, 4-5 in the TRC South.
