L/P boys finish fifth at Stewartville Invitational

ROCHESTER — The Lyle/Austin Pacelli boys golf team tied for fifth place on Friday at the Stewartville Invitational.

The 11-team event was held at the Willow Creek Golf Course and Stewartville took first place. Lake City was the runner-up, Rushford-Peterson placed third, and Blooming Prairie was fourth in the team tally.

Lyle/Pacelli and Lanesboro both had teams scores of 355 and tied for the fifth-place spot.

Alex Brennan shot an 86 to lead Lyle/Pacelli, and finished tied for 14th place in the individual results. Matt Buntje shot an 89, while Ryan Fett and Scott Snyder both shot rounds of 90 on the day.


"I was real pleased to see our guys keep four scores at 90 or below," L/P coach Mark Buntje said. "It was a solid day on the course for the guys and they made a good showing against a competitive field of teams."

L/P boys golf plays today at the Blooming Prairie Invitational.
