Larry Dale Weatherly -- Byron

BYRON -- The funeral for Larry Dale Weatherly will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Griffin-Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville, with the Rev. Ron Allen of Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Salem Corners, with military rites by the VFW and American Legion.

Mr. Weatherly, 38, of Byron, an employee of McNeilus Truck &; Manufacturing in Dodge Center, died of cancer Sunday (July 6, 2003) at Rochester Methodist Hospital following a three-week illness.

Born Dec. 26, 1964, in Minneapolis, he moved to Rochester with his family as an infant and attended Rochester schools. He served in the National Guard for 12 years and was activated during Desert Storm. On July 2, 1995, he married Linda L. Boysen at their home. She is executive head housekeeper at Country Inn and Suites South in Rochester. Mr. Weatherly collected N scale miniature trains and enjoyed restoring classic cars and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Cory (Lovie) Boysen of Fort Myers, Fla., and Travis and Shane Weatherly, both at home; three grandchildren; his mother, Judy (Miller) Weatherly of Stewartville; and a sister, Lynn Anderson of Rochester.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and until time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
