BROWNSDALE -- The funeral for LaVonne Harriet Gronseth will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Evanger Lutheran Church in rural Sargeant, with the Rev. Todd Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Gronseth, 72, of Brownsdale, a lifelong area resident, died Tuesday (March 25, 2003) at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.
LaVonne Harriet Gulbranson was born May 5, 1930, in Vernon Township, Dodge County. On Feb. 28, 1953, she married Wallace Gronseth in Hayfield. Mrs. Gronseth was a library assistant at Brownsdale Elementary School. She was a member of Evanger Lutheran Church and its ladies aid, and she enjoyed flowers.
Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Wallene (Marty) Stubstad of Rochester, LaMae (Joel) Fritze of Hayfield, Diane (Kevin) Peterson of International Falls, Minn., and Dawn (Jeff) Haugen of Cannon Falls; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Archie Gronseth.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield and an hour before the service Saturday at the church.
