AUSTIN — A memorial Mass for Leo J. Swank will be at 11 a.m. May 15 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin; the Rev. Dale Tupper will officiate. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Austin.
Mr. Swank, 71, of Austin, died Saturday (April 19, 2008) at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield.
Leo John Swank was born Aug. 7, 1936, in Austin, and graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1954. On Aug. 22, 1954, he married JoAnn Madson. Mr. Swank worked at Kresge’s and then at Weyerhaeuser for 37 years; he retired in 1998. He enjoyed golf and watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Dean (Diane) of Folsom, Calif.; three daughters, Kolleen (Kevin) Kiser of Hayfield, Amy (John) Mentz of Eagan, Minn., and Penny Swank of Austin; four grandchildren; his mother, Helen Swank of Austin; and a brother, Ronald (Winnie) of Austin. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward; and two brothers, Paul and Kenneth.
Friends may call at Mr. Swank’s home following the service on May 15.
