HARMONY -- A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Nativity Catholic Church in Harmony for Leonard G. Funke. The Rev. Steve Peterson will officiate.
Mr. Funke, 83, formerly of the Harmony area, died April 12 at the Elkador Care Center, Elkador, Iowa
Born May 5, 1918, at Burr Oak, Iowa, he farmed near Burr Oak and then for many years near Harmony, where he lived until moving to Elkador. His first wife died in 1985.
Survivors include his second wife, Verna; a son, Melvin of Granger, Minn.; three daughters, Kristie Lee Funke of Rochester, JoAnn (Donald) Radue of Hayfield, and Rose Mary (George) Tripp of Cresco, Iowa; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Caroline Hunter of Decorah, Iowa, and Josephine Cook of Harmony. He was also preceded in death by a sister.
