LeRoy C. Busby — Zumbrota

ZUMBROTA — A memorial service for LeRoy C. Busby will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota, with the Rev. Wayne D. Schoch officiating. Burial will be in Zumbrota Cemetery.

Mr. Busby, 76, of Zumbrota, died Monday (March 24, 2008) at Rochester Methodist Hospital, of cancer. He had been ill for 10 years.

He was born Aug. 8, 1931, in Goodhue County. He married Pearl Decker on Jan. 15, 1955, at Christ Lutheran Church. Mr. Busby worked at IBM and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed woodworking and was a member of the Branson Scroll Saw Club. He also served in the National Guard.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Allan (Jane) of Zumbrota; a daughter, Vicky Bakkedahl of Deer River, Minn.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a stepgrandson; three brothers, Harvey (Marlene) of Zumbrota, Bob (Jennie) of Cumberland, Wis., and Richard (Peg) of Stockholm, Wis.; and two sisters, Verna Anderson of Zumbrota and Betty (LeRoy) Strusz of Savage, Minn. Other survivors include a sister-in-law, Kitty Busby of Zumbrota. He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Friends may call an hour before the service at the church.
