LAKE CITY -- The funeral Mass for Leslie Leland Graves will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter &; Paul Catholic Church in Mazeppa, with the Rev. Robert Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Graves, 86, of Lake City, formerly of Zumbro Falls, died Friday (Aug. 30, 2002) at Lake City Nursing Home-Mayo Health System.
He was born April 20, 1916, in Hinckley, Minn., and attended elementary school in Elba. On June 5, 1939, he married Dolores E. Arendt in Bellchester. In 1935, he moved to Mazeppa, where he was employed as a mechanic for Gerken Hardware and Implement for 17 years. In 1956, the couple moved to Rochester, where Mr. Graves worked for Allen Truck and Implement for four years. In 1960, they moved to the Zumbro Falls area, and Mr. Graves worked for Schultz Implement in Plainview from 1960 until his retirement in 1979. The couple had recently moved to Lake City. He was a member of St. Peter &; Paul Catholic Church and the Mazeppa Senior Citizens. He enjoyed reading.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Marlin (Karen) of Rochester, Allen (Sharon) of Zumbro Falls and Francis of Mazeppa; six grandchildren; two great-grandsons; two sisters, Arlene (Charles) Goetz of Minnesota City and Beverly (Bob) Babler of Winona; and three brothers, Russell of Altura, and Steven (June) and Larry (Priscilla), both of Rochester. An infant son, three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel, and one hour before the service on Monday at the church. There will be a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
