I don't understand how Rochester Mayor Chuck Canfield can say that another derailment is further proof that the railroad should not come through Rochester.
Does he not understand that improved tracks would prevent derailments? Doesn't Rochester spend money to improve roads for safer automobile and truck travel? Isn't that the same thing? On the existing tracks, I think you should be prepared for more train accidents in the future. I guess we can hold Mr. Canfield responsible for those.
Don't people realize that trains will still have to come into Rochester to deliver coal to the power plant for your electricity? Don't you want trains traveling on new, safe tracks rather than old unreliable tracks? I sure would.
