In the Oct. 15 Post-Bulletin there was an article explaining District 535's school budget. It said the administrative part of the budget "only" amounts to 4 percent (which seems like a large share).
They justify administrative salaries by stating they face daily burdens while at the same time finding ways to decrease the number of teachers. They also say they oversee and supervise an overwhelming number of employees, and that it is a 24 hour a day, seven days a week job.
If the job is so overwhelming, the district either has the wrong people in these jobs or the jobs themselves need to change. Simply increasing the salary for these people won't solve their problem because the responsibilities won't change.
In my opinion, the district needs to either reduce the responsibilities along with a reduced salary and hire more administrators, or fire the current ones and find someone who can do the job!
