I urge all voters to check out the facts on the two major presidential candidates prior to Election Day. Please visit www.factcheck.org and review the issues important to you regarding the election of our next president. The media and the candidates both distort the facts.
In order to "hear" the truth about positions being presented we cannot take slanted commercials and well-scripted debates as the ultimate truth on any subject presented to the American public.
An example is President Bush claiming Sen. Kerry will turn our health care over to big government. He constructed this statement based on the positions of two conservative advocates whose beliefs are not supported by neutral experts.
The fact is that for 97 percent of Americans, our health plan and coverage will not be affected. For the uninsured and small business owners (who cannot afford to buy health insurance), Kerry's plan provides private health insurance through a program modeled on the Federal Employees Benefits Health Plan, the program that currently provides a wide choice of coverage for federal workers and members of Congress.
Check out the facts on your candidate, and get out and vote on election day.
