LET Congress cuts veterans' benefits

How can the people in Washington say they are supporting our troops.? What do our brave young men and women, who put their lives on the line every day all over the world, have to look forward to?

Our country was built on the back of the "Greatest Generation" and those from that generation who served their country nobly. Today, and in the past, our men and women in uniform sacrifice their incomes, family life, and basic liberties.

What do they have to look forward to? At a time when patriotism is high and signs that proclaim "Support our Troops" are more common than stop signs, what is happening in Congress? Congress is presently taking benefits away from our veterans.

This is appalling. Congress votes itself a raise every year in spite of its miserable performance (sure wish I had a job like that). Congress sports very few veterans itself (Yes, boys, go fight, but of course I didn't think it was important enough for me to do).

Congress has sent so few of its own children over to fight. And then Congress proclaims there is no money left for veterans' benefits. Haven't we already asked our servicemen and women for enough sacrifice? Let's not take away what we already promised them.
