I want to be proud of our state flag. When I go to sports events other states use their flags. They even run them out on the field when the teams come out or there is a score. I never see the state flag in our arenas. There are none anywhere in Williams Arena or the Metrodome. Is it because we don't care about it?
The flag shows a nearly naked Indian and barefoot farmer. Probably racist, at least they are not great symbols that I identify with. I think Indians would rather be shown in business suits and the farmers with shoes. Let's find a flag we can be proud of and use.
