I have followed the career of Sen. Sheila Kiscaden since she took office. I view her as a role model and extraordinary public servant. Her many legislative achievements are well known.
What particularly interests me is her volunteer work. Each year she uses weeks of her vacation time leading groups to areas of Central American, South America or the United States helping to dig wells or latrines, working to build community centers or recently to care for abandoned babies in Rumania.
This commitment to the service of others brings a special understanding to her work in the Legislature.
