LET Prayer a good idea for council

As bishop of one of four Rochester-based congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I would like thank Mayor Ardell Brede and voice my support for his recommendation to begin each city council meeting with a prayer. Now more than ever, we need to seek divine guidance and strength in all that we do.

Mayor Brede's suggestion, voiced to me and others at a memorial service earlier this past year, to invite members of various religious denominations in Rochester (not just those of us who belong to Christian denominations) would invite a spirit of unity and understanding that would benefit all parties involved.
