LET School is not for entertainment

So Daniel G. Smith in his Aug. 9 letter to the editor thinks Century High School should have a swimming pool!

Why stop there, Mr. Smith? Why not also request a pool hall (exercise for the mind), and maybe add a bowling alley and a spa, too.

This kind of mentality depicts to a large extent what's wrong with our present-day public school system. If continued it could spell the end of public schooling as we know it.

Indeed, what has happened to the day when children went to school to learn instead of to be entertained?
