LET Track meets are great tradition

Tuesday evenings meant something special to many children in Rochester. Tuesdays meant Hal-Martin All-Comer's Track Meets. For 32 years, the Rochester Track Club tradition has quietly continued at the Soldier's Memorial Field track.

Hundreds of children and their families converged on the track to run and jump. We have the long jump and running events from 50 meters to 1600 meters. The participants range in age from 2 and under, up to teenagers. All participants receive one purple participation ribbon a night. If they finish first, second or third in their race, they receive a blue, red or white ribbon.

A huge thank-you goes out to our sponsors for their generous support and contributions. The track meets are entirely funded through contributions from local businesses and individuals. The contributions pay for the thousands of ribbons we award to the children. Because of our great sponsors, the meets continue to be free and available to all children.

Another huge thank-you goes out to our outstanding, dedicated volunteers. They are a bunch of hard-working, fun-loving people. We're proud of the work they do.

The All-Comer's tradition continues next year as we begin our 33rd year. We hope you'll continue to support this wonderful community event. We look forward to seeing you out at the track again next year.
