Put a 5 in the middle of the 5.5 and 6.5 and read backwards, or from right to left. You would put up $6.50 to win back $5.00 on the favored A's, or if you wanted to wager on the underdog Red Sox, you would put up $5.00 to win back $5.50 (use a 5 as the base unit).
