Lloyd Frank Janning -- Austin

AUSTIN -- A funeral Mass for Lloyd Frank Janning will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Church of St. Augustine in Austin, with the Rev. Joe Fogal officiating. Burial will be in St. Columbanus Cemetery in Blooming Prairie, with military rites by American Legion Post 91.

Mr. Janning, 82, of Austin, a retired Hormel Foods Corp. employee, died Tuesday (Aug. 24, 2004) at St. John's Lutheran Home in Albert Lea.

He was born April 21, 1922, in Blooming Prairie and served in the Navy from September 1942 to November 1945. In 1946, he married Lorraine Overfelt, and they later divorced. He worked at Hormel for 39 years and retired in 1980. Mr. Janning was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, VFW, American Legion and Eagles.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Jim) Mohn of Austin; a grandson; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Herbert (Nona) of Austin; and two sisters, Marietta (Daniel) Braun of Adams and Valeria Rauen of Colorado. Four brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday at Mayer Funeral Home.
