Replacement of the 15th Avenue Northwest bridge near John Adams Middle School is slated to start July 29.
The replacement project will close 15th Avenue Northwest at the bridge, which is near 33rd Street, according to Rochester Public Works.
No detour is designated for the project, which is expected to last 30 days.
The current bridge consists of two culverts constructed in 1972 and has been determined to be compromised, which prompted the city to lower allowable weights for crossing the bridge in 2016.
The new bridge will use a single concrete culvert, allowing heavier vehicles to once again use the bridge.
The construction is estimated to cost $320,000, which will be paid with state bridge funds and the city's state-aid funds.
