ZUMBROTA — Two Zumbrota area residents were injured Sunday night when the motorcycle they were on crashed in rural Goodhue County.
Steven Rostad, 59, of Zumbrota, was westbound on Goodhue County Road 10 near 445th Street and 210th Avenue at about 8:14 p.m. Sunday when he lost control of the motorcycle near a curve in the road. The motorcycle left the roadway, overturning before coming to a rest, according to a Goodhue County Sheriff's Office report.
Both Rostad and his passenger, Miranda Tomfohrde, 59, of Zumbrota, sustained serious injuries, the report states. Tomfohrde was flown by Mayo One air ambulance to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys, and Rostad was transported by ambulance.
Neither was wearing a helmet, the report states.
Monday afternoon, Rostad was listed in fair condition and Tomfohrde was listed in critical condition, according to a Mayo Clinic spokeswoman.
