Year in school: Junior
Major/Minor: My major is convergence journalism, and I plan on declaring a political science minor.
Hobbies: I enjoy knitting a hobby that I learned to do when I was in first grade. I also enjoy reading and dancing.
Dream job: To be a reporter possibly in D.C. I know that is vague, but I think I am still figuring it out. I know for sure that I want to work in the journalism industry.
Essential supplies for getting the job done: Coffee and a great pen.
What makes local journalism important to you: Local journalism allows community members to be informed by other members of their community.
Favorite story you've covered: My favorite story that I have covered at the PB so far was the one about the Klassen Popcorn Stand in Plainview. At the University of Missouri, my favorite one was about a pie store in Columbia, Mo., that is run by a mother and daughter called Peggy Jean's. They had a really cool story that I felt that I was able to convey to readers really well, plus I got to have pie and cookies from their store!
Headline for your life: Dancer turned journalist begins her career
Favorite local businesses: Flapdoodles, Cafe Steam and Newt's. When I come home from college, those are always the places that I have to go to before I head back to school.
One thing most people don’t know about you: While I did not live there for very long, I was born in Hawaii. I moved away when I was two years old, so I don't remember much of my time there.
