Singer-songwriter Chris Kroeze, a runner-up on the TV series "The Voice," has been announced as a performer at the Aug. 29 Thursdays Downtown.

Kroeze, originally from Barron, Wis., began playing guitar at age 6, and stepped on stage for the first time during his middle school talent show. That was just the start of a music career. Eventually, he raised money in his hometown to record his first record in Nashville.

From there, he was invited in 2018 to audition for "The Voice," and made it all the way through to the final round. He is set to release his first full-length album this year.

Kroeze will perform at 7 p.m. Aug. 29 on the First Avenue stage.
