WINONA -- A memorial Mass for Lorayne M. Smith will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church in Pine Creek, Wis., with the Rev. Robert Polcyn officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Smith, 72, of Fort Worth, Texas, formerly of Winona, died July 19, 2003, at her home.
Lorayne M. Pelowski was born March 25, 1931, in Winona. She attended Arcadia and Pine Creek, Wis., schools, and received certifications in accounting and as a licensed practical nurse. She managed MS SIP Valley Construction Co., worked for the Bureau of Engraving and Control Data, and since 1959 owned and managed rental property in the Minneapolis area. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Parish in Minneapolis and the Minnehaha Stamp Club.
Survivors include a son, David Heindl of Hot Springs, Ark.; two daughters, Gloria Greenwood of Fort Worth, Texas, and Catherine Ashcraft of Weatherford, Texas; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond Pelowski of Rochester, John Pelowski of Dover and James Pelowski of Utica; and a sister, Mary Rieman of St. Charles. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother.
Friends may call an hour before the service Friday at the church.
