HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER
One soccer team from Lourdes High School is moving on, the other had its season come to an end Thursday evening.
The Lourdes boys soccer team used two goals from Jon Eickemeyer to earn a 3-0 victory over Caledonia in the Section 1A championship match.
The Eagles advance to the Class A state tournament. They’ll meet the winner of Section 8A, either Hillcrest or St. Cloud Cathedral, in the state quarterfinals at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Irondale High School in New Brighton.
The Lourdes boys are 16-3-2 this season.

The Lourdes girls saw their season come to an end after a 2-1 setback against top-seeded and undefeated La Crescent (20-0-1) in the Section 1A title match.
Lourdes goalie Aubrey Austin held La Crescent to two goals, which is two below its season average.
Lourdes finished its season 14-7-0.
