Lourdes High School top-ranked seniors

Elizabeth Kelsey, daughter of Todd and Mary Kelsey, is a National Honors Society member who has been involved in cross country, choir, the Cultural Exchange Club, Art Club and Campus Ministry. She has been a peer tutor, a postsecondary enrollment options student and a volunteer for the Salvation Army’s Good Samaritan Dental Clinic. She plans to attend Creighton University in Omaha, Neb.

Kelli Geisler, daughter of Tim and Kathy Geisler, is a National Honors Society member and an A Honor Roll member, and the recipient of the Wellesley Book Award, the Kiwanis Student of the Month Award and the Girl Scout Gold Award. She has been involved in junior varsity and varsity softball and volleyball, Project 540, peer tutoring, S.A.D.D., Liturgical Choir, the Campus Ministry and the Olmsted County Youth Commission. She also has volunteered for the Ronald McDonald House and Christmas Anonymous. She plans to attend Marquette University in Milwaukee to major in physical therapy.

Megan Johnson, daughter of Craig and Kathy Johnson, is a National Honor Society member and a National Merit Scholar Commended Student who has been involved in Color Guard, peer tutoring, volleyball, art, the school newspaper, S.A.D.D., Harvard summer school, the National Student Leadership Conference, Girl Scouts and Junior Achievement. She has volunteered for Pax Christi Church, Kutsky Park and Crisis Nursery. She plans to attend the University of Minnesota’s honors program to study child psychology, education and Spanish.

Kristin Pearson, daughter of Randall and Teresa Pearson, is a National Honor Society member and an honor roll student. She has been involved in tennis, basketball, Campus Ministry and peer tutoring. She has volunteered for the Ronald McDonald House, the Rochester Women’s Shelter, Dorothy Day House and St. John Church. She plans to attend Boston College as a pre-med student.

Grace Kimmel, daughter of Julie Cunningham and David Kimmel, is a National Honor Society member and a National Merit Scholarship finalist. She has been involved in honors choir, dance, the Cultural Exchange Club and Art Club. She has volunteered for Mayo Clinic, Habitat for Humanity and the Red Cross. She plans to attend the University of Miami’s honors program as a pre-med student.

Amy Bannon, daughter of Cynthia and Michael Bannon, is a National Honor Society member and National Merit Scholarship finalist. She has been involved in Key Club, Cultural Exchange Club, S.A.DD., dance, choir, Project 540, peer tutoring and Girl Scouts. She has volunteered for Channel One food shelf, Christmas Anonymous and the Ronald McDonald House. She plans to attend Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill., to major in English literature and minor in dance.

Christopher Glenski, son of Pat and Peggy Glenski, is a National Honor Society member and National Merit Scholar Commended Student. He has been involved in football, track, speech team, the school newspaper, peer tutoring and Art Club, and he is an Eagle Scout. He has volunteered for Channel One food shelf, Crisis Nursery, Aldrich Memorial Nursery and other organizations. He plans to attend the University of Minnesota to study chemical engineering.

Joseph Cossette, son of Kathy and Luke Cossette, is a National Honor Society member and National Merit Scholar Commended Student. He is the recipient of a Yale Book Award and has been involved in student council as senior class president, band, the Centerstreet Singers, choir, theater, Math League, tennis, Project 540 and peer tutoring, and he is an Eagle Scout. He has volunteered for Hawthorne Education Center’s adult literacy program, College for Kids and Christmas Anonymous. He plans to attend Iowa State University to study engineering.

Tim Schulte, son of Joe and Deb Schulte, is a National Honor Society member who has been involved in S.A.D.D., peer tutoring, the school newspaper, Cultural Exchange Club, golf, basketball and baseball. He has volunteered for Channel One food shelf, the GIFT program at Pax Christi Church, and highway cleanup programs. He plans to attend Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., as a pre-pharmacy student.

Lauren Claeys, daughter of Jon and Laurie Claeys, is a National Honors Society member who has been involved in soccer, track and field, basketball, peer tutoring, Campus Ministry and Cultural Exchange Club. She has volunteered for the Ronald McDonald House and the March of Dimes. She plans to attend the University of Iowa as a pre-dentistry student.

Katy Torchia, daughter of Michael and Patricia Torchia, is a National Honor Society member who has been involved in track and field, cross country, varsity skiing, peer tutoring, S.A.D.D., Cultural Exchange Club and Campus Ministry. She has volunteered for the Kiwanis Club, Habitat for Humanity and St. John School. She plans to attend the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn., to major in biology and English.

Nicholas Anderson, son of Laura and Bruce Anderson, is a National Honor Society member who has been involved in football, lacrosse, Holy Cross Book Club and Boy Scouts. He has volunteered for Channel One and various other organizations through Boy Scouts. He plans to attend Notre Dame University to major in physics.

Ashley Ahmann, daughter of Robert and Jane Ahmann, is a National Honor Society member who has been involved in varsity volleyball, Cultural Exchange Club and peer tutoring. She attended the National Young Leaders Conference in Washington D.C., in 2006. She has volunteered for the Ronald McDonald House and the March of Dimes. She plans to attend the University of Wisconsin in Madison to major in business and to minor in biology.
