Rochester Lourdes got drama and a win Monday night as it opened its baseball season against Goodhue at Mayo Field.
The Eagles used a bunt single and a stolen base by Henry Rownd in the eighth, followed by a run-scoring double by Jack Carr to beat Goodhue 5-4.
Carr finished with three hits, as did Tom Gores. Andrew Verdick gave Lourdes four strong innings of pitching.
- Mayo took advantage of John Marshall mistakes and turned it into a 10-8 win in the baseball season-opener for both teams at Mayo Field.
JM hit four batters and also had four errors in the field. Mayo committed just one error.
Mayo took a 10-3 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning.
