KELLOGG — The funeral Mass for Lucille G. Hager will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kellogg, with the Rev. Glenn Frerichs officiating. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.
Mrs. Hager, 77, of Kellogg, died Saturday (Nov. 8, 2008) at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center in Wabasha, where she had resided for the past year.
Lucille Kaminski was born March 7, 1931, in Fairmont, Minn. Her mother died in 1939, and along with her siblings, she moved to Wabasha to live at St. Joseph’s Orphanage, on the campus of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. She lived with foster families in the Altura and Hokah areas, then in 1947 lived with the Lawrence and Regina Passe family in Kellogg. She graduated from St. Felix High School in Wabasha in 1949, then worked in the kitchen at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester for a few months prior to her marriage. On Oct. 21, 1950, she married Harold Hager at St. Agnes Catholic Church.
Mrs. Hager was a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm. She later worked as a nursing aide in the obstetrics department at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, and also as a home health-care aide. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women. She taught catechism classes for several years, was a member of the National Catholic Order of Women Foresters, and was known in the area for baking cakes for birthdays, weddings and other occasions.
She is survived by six sons, Tom (Joan) of St. Charles, Eugene (Sheryl) of Eyota, Duane (Susie), Allen (Mary), Lee and Kevin (Tracy), all of Kellogg; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Murphy of St. Paul; and two sisters, Marie (Edward) Weber of Rochester and Evie (Jim) Wendt of St. Paul. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 11, 2008; and a sister, Darlene Bohnert.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha, where there will be a Women Foresters Rosary service at 4:30 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. Friends also may call an hour before the service Friday at the church in Kellogg.
