SPRING GROVE — The Lyle/Austin Pacelli baseball team remained unbeaten in the Southeast Conference with a 10-4 win over the Spring Grove Lions on Monday.
Cody Meyer picked up his second pitching win of the season by going all seven innings on the mound for Lyle/Pacelli in the SEC game. Meyer was a bit wild with six walks on the day, but he also struck out nine batters to compensate for all the free passes.
"The guys did a good job of getting key hits with runners on base and we scored three runs in the first inning," L/P coach Steve Baumann said. "We’ve played pretty well so far in the conference, and that was our second straight win overall. Since we lost our season opener, the guys have really played competitive baseball and we’ve now won four of the last five games."
A total of eight different batters collected hits in the road win for the L/P Athletics. Aaron Juenger and Kim Jihoon both had pair of hits to lead the offensive attack.
