WASHINGTON (AP) — A bipartisan housing bill before the U.S. Senate includes a provision by Senator Norm Coleman aimed at helping returning veterans avoid foreclosure.
Under current law, veterans have three months to work out mortgage problems upon their return. The Coleman provision would triple that to nine months.
The Senate is expected to debate the bill today.
