PRIOR LAKE, Minn. (AP) — A man is being held in the death of a Prior Lake woman who was a reporter for a weekly newspaper.

Police discovered the body of the 45-year-old woman in her condominium. Authorities don’t know what caused her death but suspect homicide.

A 43-year-old man at the residence was arrested. He’s in the Scott County Jail.

The victim’s name has not been released, but she’s identified by neighbors and her employer as Ruth Anne Maddox, a reporter for the Shakopee (SHAHK’-uh-pee) Valley News.

Maddox’s body was found after she did not show up for work Tuesday.

Mark Weber, general manager for Southwest Newspapers, which operates the Shakopee Valley News, says Maddox most recently covered schools and wrote feature stories. She had worked for Southwest Newspapers for about 4 1/2 years.
