Search for missing Winona man turns up no clues
WINONA, Minn. (AP) — Winona County authorities staged a massive search over the weekend for a Winona man missing for more than a year — but found nothing.
Sheriff Dave Brand said 92 people, including many volunteers, searched for Marvin Witt on Saturday.
Search dogs were used, but no sign of Witt was found.
The search included areas of the Mississippi River between Winona and Trempealeau, Wis., plus other areas around Winona.

Witt, who was 51 when he disappeared, was last seen on Dec. 10, 2005, and was reported missing 12 days later.
Since then, many searches have been conducted. Saturday’s was the largest so far.
