Mabel-Canton keeps Lyle/Pacelli girls winless

Mabel-Canton got out to a 24-point lead at halftime against the Lyle/Austin Pacelli girls and things just got worse from there on Friday night.

Tori Lind scored a game-high 25 points to lead the M-C Cougars to an 83-36 win in Southeast Conference basketball at the Pacelli Gym in Austin. The loss kept the Lyle/Pacelli Athletics winless on the season.

"We played well for the first five minutes of the game, and then they annihilated us," L/P coach Anne Christopherson said. "We couldn’t stop Lind and she just poured in the points. They had too many weapons and it was a big deficit by halftime."

Melanie Aanonson led the way for the L/P girls with nine points and six rebounds. Sarah Blake and Brittany Bartholomew each hit a 3-pointer for the Athletics in the loss.

L/P (0-19, 0-13) plays host to the Randolph Rockets on Tuesday night in the final home game of the season.
