RED WING — The funeral for Mae D. Johnson will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in Red Wing, with Rev. Gary Elg officiating. Burial will be in Burnside Cemetery, Red Wing.
Mrs. Johnson, 79, of Red Wing, died Friday (Nov. 14, 2008) at Fairview Seminary Home.
Mae Doris Nash was born June 11, 1929, in Red Wing, where she attended school. She worked at the Red Wing Shoe Co. On Nov. 21, 1947, she married Fritz Johnson at the First Covenant Church in Red Wing. She then worked a few years in the kitchen at the Seminary Home. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed doing cross-stitch, cooking, and spending time with family.
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela (Gary) Thom of Beldenville, Wis.; a son, Gary (Darlene) Jacobson of Sewell, N.J.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jim (Kay) Nash, Dale (Darlene) Nash and Mike (Mary) Nash, all of Red Wing; and a sister, Linda (Dick) Brunkhorst of Red Wing. She was preceded in death by her husband, on May 17, 2000, a daughter, three brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing, and an hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
