ROCHESTER -- A memorial service for Mae Jean Buss-Vrieze will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Hamilton Cemetery in rural Racine.
Mrs. Buss-Vrieze, 42, of 520 Third Ave. S.E., a former day care operator, died Sunday (Aug. 25, 2002) at Saint Marys Hospital.
Mae Jean Vrieze was born March 4, 1960, in Mesa, Ariz., grew up in southeastern Minnesota and graduated from Rochester Christian School. She lived in Rochester all her adult life. She operated a day care for 14 years and was semi-retired due to disability. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Lonnett Buss of Rochester; four brothers, John (Carolyn) Vrieze of Osage, Minn., George (Linda) Vrieze of Albany, N.Y., Steve (Michelle) Vrieze of Lanesboro and Paul (Lori) Vrieze of Rochester; two sisters, Karen (Mark) Kennedy of West Concord and Lonna (Gary) Haas of Rochester; and special friend, Steve Eggler of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a brother.
Friends may call an hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
