WINONA -- An Onalaska, Wis., man faces one count of first-degree aggravated robbery after he allegedly used a BB gun to rob a woman of about $130 so he could buy cocaine.
Todd James Connaughty, 40, was also charged April 2 in Winona District Court with possessing drug paraphernalia.
The complaint alleges he went to the woman's apartment late April 1, and they talked. He left and came back, asking the woman to step outside. When they went out, he pulled a black handgun from his jacket and demanded money. He took her cell phone and money and left. The woman told police she feared he would shoot her and that he wanted the money to buy drugs.
When police arrested Connaughty, he confessed, the complaint states.
