Man assaulted in wheelchair in Winona
WINONA-- Police were looking today for a man who assaulted a man in a wheelchair in downtown Winona late Monday night.
Deputy Police Chief Andrea Essar said the suspect jumped out of a vehicle that passed close to James Bogart at Third and Main streets after Bogart allegedly yelled something at the vehicle.
Essar said the suspect allegedly punched Bogart in the face, knocked over his wheelchair and then kicked him in the head.
The suspect then got back into the vehicle and left the scene.
A witness called police and Bogart was taken to a hospital for treatment.
