WABASHA — A 33-year-old man convicted of domestic assault by strangulation will serve five years on probation.
Jeremy William Forbes was charged in July for assaulting a woman at a Wabasha residence. According to a complaint, Forbes and the woman were arguing when he put his hands around her throat.
Forbes, a former Wabasha resident now staying at a halfway house in Minneapolis, was sentenced March 18. Judge Terrence Walters stayed execution of a 21-month prison sentence and put Forbes on probation.
Conditions of probation include 80 days in jail, which he had already served, and following the recommendations of a domestic abuse assessment.
