Man to plead not guilty to assault

From staff reports

The attorney for a 39-year-old Rochester man accused of felony domestic assault said in Olmsted District Court on Wednesday that he plans to plead not guilty.

David Lee Brooks, 39, of 6705 10th St. S.E., is accused of assaulting a woman last month because of testimony she planned to give in court on a different set of assault charges. Brooks was found guilty on that set of charges in late February.

Brooks waived his right to an omnibus hearing Wednesday and requested a jury trial. He is represented by attorney William Wright.

His next court date is April 12.
