Marcella E. Hanson -- Kasson

KASSON -- The funeral for Marcella E. Hanson will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kasson, with the Revs. John Weisenburger and Truman Mohn co-officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Kasson.

Mrs. Hanson, 86, of Kasson, a longtime farm homemaker, died Wednesday (May 28, 2003) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, where she had been a patient six days.

Marcella E. Beaver was born March 28, 1917, in rural Kasson, grew up there and graduated from Kasson High School. She completed two years of normal teachers training in Kasson and then taught in area schools. On June 29, 1940, she married Roger Hanson in Kasson They farmed in rural Kasson until moving to town in January 2003. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Kasson.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Sandy (Alan) Benfield of Kasson and Diane (Tom) Ferry of Coon Rapids, Minn.; two sons, Mark (Darlene) and Craig (Karen), both of rural Kasson; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A brother preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Dibble Funeral Home in Kasson and an hour before the service Monday at the church.


Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church.
