Mrs. Welhaven
ROCHESTER -- The funeral Mass for Margaret F. "Peggy" Welhaven will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Pius X Catholic Church in Rochester, with the Rev. Paul Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mrs. Welhaven, 88, co-founder of Welhaven Music in Rochester, died Friday (Sept. 8, 2006) at Saint Marys Hospital, of a heart attack.
Margaret Frances Steele was born May 26, 1918, in Hibbing, Minn. She later moved to Duluth, and graduated from Cathedral High School. She graduated from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth and then worked in Duluth. On Oct. 22, 1941, she married Earl S. Welhaven in Duluth. They moved to Rochester in 1946. In 1953, she co-founded Welhaven Music with her husband. In addition to being co-owner of Welhaven Music, she was a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling and being with her family.
Survivors include three sons, James (Rita), John (Mary) and Thomas, all of Rochester; a daughter, Mary (Patrick) Sullivan of Eagan, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 1, 1997, a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, and an hour before the service Thursday at the church.
The family prefers memorials to the MJM Foundation or to the Lourdes High School Band Endowment Fund.
