ROCHESTER -- The funeral for Margaret M. Biel will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Sherman P. Coltvet officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Biel, 74, of Rochester, a homemaker, died of complications from leukemia Wednesday morning (Aug. 21, 2002) at Rochester Methodist Hospital.
Margaret M. Alberts was born Jan. 27, 1928, in Mantorville. On Feb. 6, 1948, she married Carlyn J. Biel in Mantorville. They farmed north of Rochester until 1975, then were semi-retired and in 1983 retired to Port Charlotte, Fla., and spent the summers in Rochester. Mrs. Biel was one of the 13 charter members of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Rochester and a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Port Charles, Fla. She was a volunteer worker at both churches.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Marilyn C. Gannaway of Cottage Grove, Minn., and Jeanne M. (Steve) Landers of Beaumont, Calif.; three sons, Mark L. (Pam) of Kinsman, Ohio, Lynn K. (Leonard) of Fort Worth, Texas, and Kent C. of Spokane, Wash.; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Marion, Roberta, Nelda, Jean, Nadine, Arlene and Carolyn; and three brothers, Orvis, Klaus and Don. A grandchild preceded her in death.
Friends may call an hour before the service Saturday at the church.
