Marguerite A. Hesby — Stewartville

STEWARTVILLE — A funeral Mass for Marguerite A. Hesby will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Stewartville, with the Rev. Gregory Havel officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rochester.

Mrs. Hesby, 90, of Stewartville, died Saturday (Feb. 10, 2007) in Stewartville Care Center.

Marguerite A. Clark was born May 15, 1916, on her family’s farm near Simpson. Prior to marriage, she worked as a bookkeeper.

She married Thomas Hesby on Aug. 28, 1947, in Spring Valley. Mr. Hesby, a retired electrician, died on April 30, 1997.

The couple lived in Kasson and moved to Rochester in 1950. Mrs. Hesby had lived in Stewartville since 1998.


She was a homemaker and had been a 50-year member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Rochester before moving to assisted living in Stewartville.

Survivors include three daughters, Franciscan Sister Charlotte Hesby of Janesville, Minn., Marcia (Brian) Goodmanson of Rochester and Colleen M. (David) McManus of Elk Grove, Calif.; two sons, James C. (Janice) of Elk Grove, Calif., and Richard T. (Beverly) of Ankeny, Iowa; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, five brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.

The family prefers memorials be sent to Stewartville Care Center.
