AUSTIN — The funeral for Marie Elizabeth Peters will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lyle. Interment will be in Woodbury Cemetery in Lyle.

Mrs. Peters, 90, of Austin, died Friday (Feb. 16, 2007) at her home.

Marie Hinrichs was born in Manson, Iowa, on July 15, 1916. She was a self-taught seamstress and used her talent to make special gifts at Christmastime for family. She was a talented gardener and a speed walker.

Survivors include two sons, Ron (Lois) of Austin and Bob (Judy) of Harmony; four daughters, Marlene (Quentin) Fiala of Bristol, Va., Betty (Vaughn) McClelland of Coggin, Iowa, Linda (Jerry) Reinartz of Austin and Julie (Ken) Wilkins of Hastings, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, and an hour before the service Monday at the church.
