Marie Ella Lehnartz -- Kellogg

KELLOGG -- The funeral for Marie Ella Lehnartz will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Kellogg United Methodist Church in Kellogg, with the Rev. Lyle Krumrie officiating. Burial will be in Elgin Cemetery in Elgin.

Mrs. Lehnartz, 82, of Kellogg, died Tuesday (July 26, 2005) at her home.

Marie Ella Gusa was born April 11, 1923, in Plainview, and attended rural Wabasha County schools near Plainview. On Jan. 3, 1948, she married Wallace M. Lehnartz in Winona; he died Jan. 17, 2000. They moved to Kellogg in 1951. She worked at a laundromat, a sewing factory, Lakeside Foods in Plainview, as a waitress in Wabasha and Kellogg, and at St. Elizabeth's Nursing Home in Wabasha for several years before retiring. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, reading, flowers and feeding birds and squirrels.

Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Wolfe of Frontenac and Marie Rieck of Plum City, Wis.; five sons, Hilary (Jane) of Nelson, Wis., and Gordon, Philip, Michael (Bonnie) and John, all of Kellogg; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ernest (Margie) Gusa of Kellogg. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, three brothers and one sister.

Friends may call an hour before the service Thursday at the church.
